Our society has been hard at work collecting a wide range of artifacts and historical documents that reflect the unique story of Almira and Lake Ann. Our museum building, located in the heart of Lake Ann, serves as a treasure trove of history. Step inside and you’ll be transported to another era, where you can immerse yourself in the stories that have shaped our community.
Preserving the Past for Future Generations
One of our proudest achievements is the acquisition of property in Lake Ann, where we have relocated four historic buildings. These buildings, carefully restored to their original glory, now stand as living testaments to the past.
Visiting our museum is like stepping into a time machine. Explore the quaint Blacksmith Shop, where generations of smiths made the iron work for them. Step into the old blacksmith shop and imagine the sounds of ringing hammers and clanging metal. And don’t forget to peek inside the charming Victorian-era house, a glimpse into the lives of the town’s more well-to-do residents. The Fire Barn houses an Almira Twp. 1947 Fire Engine , with history of fire fighting the early fires that swept the Village of Lake Ann three times.
Our dedicated team of volunteers has worked tirelessly to ensure that these buildings are not just preserved, but brought back to life. Each space has been carefully curated to give you a truly immersive experience, where you can connect with the past and gain a deeper understanding of the community that thrived here.
