Here, you will find a treasure trove of artifacts, photographs, and documents that depict the early days of Almira and Lake Ann. From the first settlers to the growth of industries, our museum showcases the strength and resilience of the community.

Learn the Stories Behind Our Historic Buildings

One of the highlights of our historical society is the collection of four historic buildings that have been carefully moved to our property in Lake Ann. These buildings serve as living testaments to the past and offer a unique glimpse into the lives of those who came before us.

Explore the cozy ambience of Rev. Babcock’s family home, built in the 1890s by an early settler in Almira Township. Can you imagine the daily struggles and joys of life in this quaint abode? Step inside and transport yourself to a bygone era.

Visit the Old Boathouse and feel a sense of nostalgia as you look at the fishing gear that once caught many a fish. Immerse yourself in the stories of the area, and imagine no electricity till 1930’s.  Wood heated stoves.  Ice for refrigeration! Horses and buggies for transportation.
